One of these things is not like the other - nor should one follow the other. *shiver*
The order, I leave to you, to "solve".

Free Coffee!
After digging through all the change in my pockets and desk drawer, I methodically insert a myriad of coins into the greedy little slot, push my standard "1C3" option and wait. Shortly after the cup drops and fluid begins to fall into the cup, the machine beeps a triplet of quartets the graciously spits out 3 quarters into the change reservoir while flashing "WINNER" in the status window. :)
Merry Christmas to me!

Coffee Hoarding
I have a strange way of hoarding old coffee cups. Even from the machines at work. For your consideration, I present Exhibit A:
This is about a week's worth of coffee from the cafe and the vending machine. The red cups are the morning cup I grab as I walk across campus. The white cups are from the machine - and at least every 3rd cup gets reused on those days when I down the first one quickly.
Also, the white cups are from the auto-french-vanilla-cappuccino machine, not actual vending machine coffee - I do have some standards.

Coins Only
I work for a company that makes coffee related products and manufactures a specialty coffee sub-brand and yet - finding a good cup of joe around here is a constant needle in a haystack task.
Case and point: There are 2 "cafe" stations on campus, both of which were closed this morning due to a holiday gathering in the main "quad" which was offering beverages and snacks to those who donated to the charity of the day. I had no time for such niceties and just wanted my damn coffee, but alas, there was none.
So I accepted the fate of the morning and decided to hit the vending machine in my building on the way to my desk only to discover the pixelated blue text in the window flashing tauntingly "COINS ONLY"; as if it knew I had a pocket full of dollar bills.
The afternoon coffee hunt will force me to walk across campus to the store, purchase a single slice of gum, only to return to my building and hope the machine isn't also out of cups (as it was once last week and auto-brewed my cup of french vanilla right down the drain).
